My neighbor lives on the opposite side of my building, facing the street. I live on the side of the building where all of his customers park. He has a lot of customers coming in and out all day, every day.

We have no on-site manager, but we do have an HOA rule against running a business out your condo.
What kind of proof do I have to gather? If I stick video cameras in my bedroom windows, that will show that there are a lot of people coming and going, but not that they specifically go to his condo. I am not comfortable with following these people around with a video camera. The other neighbors pretty much don't want to complain, they just put up with it.

What else can I do?

You could put up with it like the rest of your neighbors. It is likely that if you raise a stink about it, your neighbor is going to know you did it. And then you're setting yourself up for retaliation. That's why your neighbors are putting up with someone running a business out of his condo.

Or if you think his business is the illegal kind, call the cops and invite a vice detective to view the comings and goings from your bedroom.

Do you know what kind of business it is and are you sure he's not just dealing drugs?

Inform your HOA, keep pestering them about it and gather the evidence as covertly as possible.

There are untold # of businesses being run out of homes today, via the Internet. I know someone who runs an Internet business from his home in an HOA community in Anthem, despite the rules of not running a business out of your home, but he has the type of business where no client comes to his house!

How many times do you read of someone relocating to Las Vegas, who is not worried about getting a job here, because they'll be working out of their homes.

This could lead to a sticky, legal issue! Some companies even allow you to work out of your home, a day or 2 a week!

Those that are running businesses out of their homes invisibly vs. visibly!

Working out of your home is working out of your home is working out of your home?

Why should he mind his own business? It's against city ordinances as well as HOA rules. He can inform anonymously to the HOA and it won't impact him.

The problem is if it increases foot traffic in the community. It's fine to run an internet run business at home, but if you have 100 customers coming through a small cul-du-sac daily, that is problematic.

Are you like a shut in? I have no idea what my neighbors are doing next door, let alone on the other side of the complex! During the day as I am gone. Everyone is gone to work. Do you do a lot of drugs and you are paranoid? I would recommend counseling for yourself and try to understand why everyone's business is your business. Ok. I will confess something. Now that I have you riveted in anticipation! About 10 years ago, I told my neighbor that I would take her dog for a walk, so I did. But during the walk, the dog had a nature call and took a big **** in the park like setting of our complex! Well, I was completely unprepared for this nasty event. So, after looking about, I ascertained that no one had seen the deed that had been done. So, I casually walked away from this Everest of dog pooh left in the green area.

I have never told anyone that story in 10 years. I feel better for sharing.
