It will be fine shortly... good thing it wasnt Android. It would've melted. As a previous owner of a iphone 3gs and 4...and a current owner of a Samsung Note 2.. android is junk in my opinion... I headed back to the Iphone in September.

All phones no matter who makes them do this.. It is a safety feature built into them, just like computers....

what don't you like about android? samsung generally produce quality phones (samsung makes a large % of the iphone chips)

i don't see what the fuss is about ios vs android, both excellent OS's, and like many cars today, both are beginning to look a lot like each other

for me price is the main driver, so for $200 i bought a more than capable lte 5.5" android phone and pay $25/m for unlimited text, calls, and data (1gb at lte)

I am outside, working construction, with my Samsung note 2 in my pocket. It has NEVER overheated.
I have had this phone for almost 3 years now without any problems.
I am famous for rage smashing phones that mess up. This is the longest I have ever had a phone. I've had just about every flag ship model from every major manufacturer. I've rage smashed them all except the note 2. If it ever dies I will be getting whatever generation of note that's out.

Coworker dropped his note 4 out of a boom lift. It fell 40 feet, inside a case, of course, and it's absolutely fine.

I dropped my iphone 4, 2 feet onto carpet, and had to replace the shattered screen.

I've only gotten that message when I inadvertently left my iPhone in the car. A minute or two in the fridge, and it was good to go!

And some cars. We had a Nissan Rogue that went into "limp mode" when it got too hot going over the pass into California on day a couple years ago when it was 125 out. Something about the transmission fluid boiling. Limp mode kept the RPMs at 2K or less..

It's a good thing your phone has that message. The alternative is costly.
