I did search and I asked macgeek but his handyman is no more. I need some help with doors and fixtures.

Anyone have a good handyman? I would hate to just pick one on CL!!! Thanks!

I guess I won't. My browser on this tablet won't let me. It closes the dialog box when I tap it. Search for "roof it right"

I have a guy I just used once, though a friend used him previously, and he was recommended by someone who's friend uses him for property maintenance.

I've used him for changing a door lock, changing some thermostats, socket changing, light switch changing, some toilet hose repairs and some dripping tap work. My friend used him for appliance fitting. When I get back, he'll be changing out my RO tap and instant hot water tap.

He seems good enough, and helpful, though we had some trouble making the appointments happen. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you his details.

This contractor by far has been the most difficult for me to find in Las Vegas, I've now had three. One showed-up drunk and wired a ceiling fan wrong, second hooked my water softener-up in reverse and blew resin throughout my entire house plumbing system and the last one just stopped showing-up after he was paid.

If you find a good one I'd be very interested in getting his/her information as I still have many projects to do.

Too be honest I started doing all the handyman projects myself,
I may be slower, but I know at least the job was done right.

And you'd have to have some serious personality issues to steal from yourself....

It's important to use a licensed handyman. I have used a company called Las Vegas Handymanhandymanoflasvegas@msn.com . They have different licensed handymen that they send out for different jobs. I have used this company in the past and they have been very reasonable and have a licensed professional for nearly any job.

What is a handy man license? Is it the same as general contractor?

I like all this license business, no such thing in England....

How does it help though? Is it if your contractor does poor quality work? Or just if he properly screws you over that you get to complain? -how do they lose their licenses?
