I think my A/C went out last night. I can hear it turn on, but the fan outside isn't spinning. Right now the temp inside is 85 and my dogs are not happy right now...
As I sit here just after noon while waiting on my 11:00 A/C appointment
, I thought maybe someone here can PM me the name of a reputable company that won't gouge me. The unit is 20 years old, so I most definitely will need a new one. Thanks.

Also, if you're a costco member, they also have a/c contractors. Good deal with Costco backing.

There are a number of cheap failures for no fan. So do not presume the unit is dead. Most likely is a dead fan few hundred dollars.

Usually for an AC condenser fan not working is the start/run capacitor has blown in the heat.

When we bought our place here, I made sure to contact the HW company and ask them specifically if a 3-4 ton roof mounted AC unit would be covered against a total failure. I was told yes and I have it in writing. Also includes all installation costs.
