My point is if you do your research like we did (not just on C-D), Vegas can be a great place to live and do business (we relocated our business here from California), we thoroughly enjoy living here. Could have relocated anywhere in the US as long as I was near a major airport, ANYWHERE, and I chose Vegas and haven't regretted it once, but I also like Noodle Salad. Eyes open, not getting tricked by that rascally rabbit that is vacationing here I think you'll be good. Does it have its negatives, sure it does, every city does, ultimately the experience is going to be what you make of it and what side of Noodle salad do you fall on.
No I actually lived there a very long time ago and grew up in Reno, so I'm accustomed to life in Nevada. I really liked it a lot and I've always wanted to go back. I very much look forward to what the city has to offer.

I'm glad to hear that you're happy there and we certainly hope for the same!

It does get hotter here, but the humidity is extremely low except for July and August. Everyone on this forum complains, but the truth is that people in Nevada drive slower and more carefully and there is very little traffic compared to Sacramento. Of course, the fact that there is no state income tax is enough for many people to move here.
That's funny because I actually do a lot of work out of El Dorado County. It's a small world, friend!

It's interesting that a lot of people here seem to complain about Las Vegas traffic? I guess they've never sat on Hwy 50 at 5pm. From what you've described, the Las Vegas traffic seems like a breeze. I sure hope it is! When I lived in Las Vegas years ago I was impressed with the layout of the city streets - everything has 4-5 lanes. They really planned that city for growth.

We are. Looking for a place in a nice neighborhood with amenities. We've been looking at some of the mid rise condos on the south strip and we're liking what we see!

While looking for a home I was able to narrow my search by entering the zip code that property was in into Zip Data Maps - Detailed Profiles, Demographics and Heat Maps For Local Zip Codes. What a wealth of information you will find there!

We found the store clerks very friendly and helpful. Overall we love it here.

Make www.groupon your friend. You will save tons on your newspaper subscriptions and other places like Sam's Club. Buy yourself a book from Entertainment Coupons and explore some of the food and entertainment the city has to offer at 2 for 1.

Sacramento is also very hot so your will adjust to the heat here. It's even drier. Best of luck.
Yes, we see 108 degree days here too and it's not bad at all. We prefer that to the cold most definitely. And the heat in Las Vegas is nothing compared to a sweltering 95 degree day in Philadelphia, no wonder people I've read here who move from the northeast love Las Vegas so much. LOL

Thanks so much for the links! We are def always looking for bargains on meals and entertainment! It's great that you are all loving Las Vegas as much as I hope we will. We are super excited and can't wait for our move!
