About half of my family is now in Vegas. My mom has lived there a year or so my sister came out about 6 months ago and now my brother and his family are moving there. (he lost his job). I can think of other places I would rather live. But Vegas does have a lot to offer. I have visited many times and always enjoy it.

I was going to ask don't some of the casino's have rentals for long term? You might want to check. Just an idea.

I've heard that those moving from New England to Vegas (such as myself) are usually disappointed with the internet options available. I have heard and read that to us it will seem very slow? Any truth or experience with this? We have 7 devices that would need to be connected if that helps...

Anyone have Cox vs. Century Link experience in pricing and internet speed?

I run 2 businesses from home. Cox is the better option for speed. We have 5 laptops running non-stop 24 hours a day, and have never had an issue with speed.

150 megabit/second from Cox is the fastest we got. Centurylink keeps advertising gigabit lines but I don't think their infrastructure is in place to offer it to anyone.

Some kid knocked on my door and claimed they just installed it on my street. (I wouldn't have even opened the door except that I was on my way to work anyway.)

I don't believe a word they say. But that's what he said.

They would have had to dig up the street. You would have been aware.

I get a 100 up and 10 down reliably from Cox.

Go with Cox. I'm not in love with " our friend in the digital age" and I have their support phone number memorized. That said, they have a big beefy fiber network in the valley. They dug up half the city to put in that fiber ring.

Your Internet speeds will be the least of your worries out here.
