He's talking about anything on or near Mayland Parkway, north of UNLV. Lvoc has a good crime map. Ask him to repost it.

Coming from Boston to LV, you will adjust quickly to the very aggressive driving here that is so familiar in Massachusetts.

I've driven in Vegas, it's not so bad actually.

If you rent at a complex the community manager or leasing agent will rent to you. Its nothing like the Boston market with broker fees and 1st, 1ast, security dep, and everything. If your credit checks out, some places will rent to you with just 1st month or a half month or whatever.

Craigslist has some condos for rent. Those will be with a realtor or the owner. When I went apartment hunting in Vegas, I say about 1 out the 8 places I saw was with a rental agent.

In general single family, townhouses and better condos are rented through the MLS. Much of the better stuff on CL is from the MLS. The apartments generally are rented directly on site and often have CL ads. Virtually all the better apartment complexes have internet sites. Use the internet and search by zip code.

We have a pug and a cat. So far in my apt hunt, it hasnt really been an issue. At the most, landlords/owners want a 300$ deposit. Thats a lot better than in Boston where almost nowhere accepts animals and some one a full month rent for a deposit and up to 200 more a month.

Okay. Have you guys definitely decided to get an apartment or do you need a realtor to look at homes?

We're looking at apartments right now. Not in a place financially to buy for a few years.
