Anyway, it might be of benefit to reread the statement you're referring to again--a bit more closely this time, with some standard literary devices in mind.
WOW!!! with that kind of attitude do you really think you going to find leads?
Better get that job before you move to vegas or you will find your self crashing in to a BIG!!! brick wall.

I find this to be a strange statement that isn't based on reality on the ground. You must be talking primarily about the casino and resort sector of the employment market in Vegas, compared with, say, the need at SNWA for experienced hydrologists, who tend to be imported from out of town.

There are many positions filled mostly from out of towners with specific capabiliities. But these are found in the standard ways. Head hunters, national job sites and such. They are rarely filled by "write in" candidates but it does happen. So get a few resumes flying.

The vast majority of jobs, particularly in the Casino/Hotel industry are pretty close to being exclusively local. Employer fear that newcomers won't last. And unless you have specific experience you often have to start at lesser sites and work your way up. The strip gets to pick from everywhere else in town...why take chances on a newcomer?

Right . . . one can't find "leads" with a bit of self-deprecation and a request for a closer look/carefulness.

As I said- the specialized positions are the exception. The OP has what appears to be very broad/general experience- he's not a brain surgeon, hydrologist, commercial construction project manager, or casino exec, so there's likely plenty of people with similar qualfications already in town to fill positions. Unless you've got some major "in demand" skills (like your example), you're going to be lumped in with everyone else who's already there.

the title of the thread is "we had a lot of choices" but reading it, the OP has no choices, since he apparently needs a job in hand before moving.
