if it's merely aesthetics then any of the upscale theaters like Downtown Summerlin's regal 5 ( there are a couple more) are great, well worth the price of admission as far as I am concerned.

But if your search is more technically oriented, then your choices are far more limited.

which is it OP?
Yes..to both actually. Some films I'd like to see with the highest tech, others just a nice comfy seat, clean floors, and with the least amount of rug rats and cell phone addicted patrons would be perfect. We'll be new in town in the next couple months, so we were looking for the local take on where to go, where to avoid. We don't have much choice where we currently live, so we're definitely looking forward to having some options in our entertainment..

Thanks to all who are letting out the secrets..

The Galaxy theater in the NLV Cannery casino is the only one in town that has D-Box motion seats. It also claims to have the theater with the largest screen. That said, I've never stepped foot in the place. They've also got a couple Dolby Atmos equipped theaters.

Looks like the current title using D-Box is "The Martian", showing in 3D and D-Box.

Regal DT Summerlin is super nice, so is the Green Valley Galaxy. I'd put Palms on the list too, but its not as luxurious. AMC Town Square is nice.

Ill only go to Regal in Village Square if they are the only ones with a specific movie I want to see. Its cool that its not in a casino but its not a great theater by a long shot.

I frequent Suncoast the most. Above avg movie theater and usually playing a limited release. 5$ tuesdays.

Okay... here it goes.

if you are looking for the most advanced theater experience, you are looking for a HFR (high frame rate) theater that has Dobly Atmos sound.

Palms theaters has that... I think there are probably a few more but the palms is tops.

IF... and this is a big if... you are lucky enough to get a movie shot on film, and that film is 65mm/70mm the Palms is the only place you can see that movie in Full frame 70mm projection. Interstellar was the last movie to offer a variable aspect ratio 70mm presentation and it was stunning. Dark Knight before that and Disney is rerunning it's Lion King movie in 70mm soon. the next 70mm movie to be released will be Tarantinos "Hatefull Eight" coming on christmas day to go up against Star Wars (which is NOT shot on film surprisingly)

If 35mm film is okay for you, the Cannery is your only other option. the cannery will show 70mm film, but the frame is only half the size.

All other advance theaters that I know of are digital, even if they say iMax, and are only 4k resolution (for now).

The rest is a mix of HFR theaters and dobly cinemas.

If sound is your thing, as it is for me, Red Rock is the only theater I know that has the full Klipsch cinema series set up and the crown of that is their iMax klipsch theater... STUNNING AUDIO. But, it's not Atmos. To me all other audio, including atmos, pales in comparison.
