green valley is further than green valley ranch, and if you want to get to the other side of green valley instead of the boundary, it would be further, green valley is only near stephanie at I think from Santiago to Sunset, sorry I should have been more clearer on the Stephanie boundary...Stephanie also has a lot of traffic on it...When I was living in that area, it took 15 minutes to get from Eastern to Stephanie, it took 20 minutes to get to Green Valley Ranch from Eastern/Horizon Ridge, so even though it is only 3 miles, it is still far in time by traffic...

sex offenders has nothing to do with shoplifting, dangerous stores, and dirty stores...

sex offenders aren't the only ones who commit crime...

I understand that, but it wouldn't be a streach to infer where there are more sex offenders there is higher crime?

I guess I could like in the Metro Crime stats as well. Without even looking I can tell you the concentration of "dots" is going to look similar to the sex offender map.

That said. I was at Lee's last night on E. Sunset and there was a turnstype to get into the store. Is it okay if it is a liquor store or does that mean there is high crime there as well? AFAIK all Lee's have them.

Were you walking? It's like 2 miles from Eastern/HR to GVR. Go West on HR for about 3/4 a mile and turn south on Carnegie and after about a mile you are there. One stop light at Eastern/HR, one stop light at HR/Carnegie, one stop sign on Carnegie and then a light before GVR.

All Lee's have a turnstyle. Most supermarkets do not.

Sex offenders are poor. In general the location will correlate very well with low rents. Being poor sucks. Other than economically it does not correlate well with crime.

have you ever gotten stuck in the school zone on Carnegie or when people are crossing the street? What about when church lets out on Horizon Ridge?

Just wondering--I think that I read that you grew up in Vegas. I love your posts as they are from someones view as a native. But...have you ever lived anywhere else? Reason I ask is that I just don't think 20 mins to get somewhere is bad at all. Could be that it is just me and where I am at. It takes us 20 mins on a good day to get to the freeway. My husband is LOVING the traffic and the commute there. Guess it is what you are used to.

Las Vegas didn't just happen. Pioneers like "Pop" Squires created it from nothing. Here is a little piece of history that everyone that wants to live here should know. While reading, note the time-line of population growth.
