Hello,

Having to chose between a FHT or TPLO surgery for my dog.
I can find a lot on TPLO but anyone has experience or knowledge of the other procedure and its success? I know it is an older procedure. Stands for Fibular Head Transposition.

Try one of the breed specific groups on FB for this question. The answer would be very different for a doxie or a GSD.

This is major surgery and quite expensive. And many people have found that once you do ONE, you end up doing the other in a year or so. If you are going to check on prices, you might want to check Mesquite too. It's an hour drive but vets there are often hundreds of dollars cheaper. Look for recommendations on vets in the FB rescue groups too. They often know the best rates or can sometimes get you a discount.
