saw it too, to me it was green, I thought for sure it had to b the northern lights (I saw on the news recently they were dipping further south but still not this far south) I went to get my camera and it was gone. I heard some blurb on the news but missed the mayhem. I drove out to redrock to try to see it better!

What does all that have to do with a rocket fired by the Navy?

BTW: The first time I saw one of those rockets being fired was in the mid-60s. I, my wife, and daughter, all thought it was an airplane crash going down over a mountain-top near Stateline (now known as Primm), and I actually stopped and called the police from the gas station, now known as Whiskey Pete's Hotel and Casino. They called the airport who said there were no airplanes in the area, and nobody knew anything. We were in mystery until a few years later we found out that those were rockets being fired by the military, and we've seen at least one a year since then. No big deal once you find out they aren't UFO's or airplanes crashing.

But you'd think that in 50 years they'd know how to fire a rocket by now wouldn't you?
