A

B has a huge monthly meter charge. (To put things in perspective, my monthly power bill is roughly $40. With TOU-B, just the monthly meter charge would be $34.)

Just finished my first year on TOU (plan A). Last year (non-TOU) my electricity for the year was $1868. Under TOU my total for the year was $1168. I told myself I wouldn't suffer at all in the summer, but I did on some days.

I have been ignoring the snapshot e-mail. I just looked at the last one and you are right; it is just not accurate. I check the website every few days and have found it to accurately track my bill.

For 2015 as of midnight Saturday night (Nov 14) my NV Energy bills for the year have totalled:
TOU Option A (What I am on) $603.63
If I had been on Option B for the year the bills would have been $784.38
If I had not been on a TOU plan at all for the year the bills would have been $843.12

Yep, option A was the right choice for me and I neither I nor my wife suffered a bit.

My 2 most costly dates of service were Independance Day weekend. July 3rd I spent $7.41 on just under 60KwH and July 4th I spent $6.17 on just under 50KwH. Understandable though since we had a rather large party that we hosted. I think outside of that weekend our next highest cost date of service was $5.19 on August 28th, from what I see in my usage spreadsheet.

Out of curiosity, where can you see the savings vs. option B and non-TOU? According to their site, the rate comparison tool has not been launched.

I have a spreadsheet that I created with all the rates and calculations. I just plug in my 15 minute usage data one week at a time and the spreadsheet calculates the cost for all 3 rate plans. That weekly usage in 15 minute increment data is quite easy to get off of the NVE website.

I have sent the spreadsheet to many people on CD over the past couple of years. Shoot me a PM with your e-mail address if you would like a copy.

My total consumption for the last bill was 1099 KWH and charge was $151. Glad to be able to subsidize all.
