I'm wanting to move to LV, but would rather be 45 minutes to an hour drive away from the strip. Are all those areas pretty low crime? and how much would apartments/condos cost? I know everyone here is sick of hearing questions like this but I searched for a thread about this question and could not find one. Any help would be appreciated.

You can find low crime and peace and quiet 20 minutes from the Strip in all directions. You should be able to find a nice suburban apartment complex from 900-1300 depending on the size.

Only worse case. More like 30 minutes. Less off hours.

You would have to go to Overton, Mesquite or Pahrump. Mesquite is pretty much an outlying suburb. Prices slightly less than LV. Heavy retiree population. New Sun City there.

Overton and the related areas are rural and have a high Mormon populations. If you like rural it is somewhat cheaper than LV. The Mormons generally make very nice neighbors though some feel excluded as much will center on the church.

Pahrump is about an hour out. Substantially cheaper than Vegas. Ruralish to suburban. Has a libertarian flavor. Maybe a little redneck in the mix. Has all the stuff one needs to survive. For medical you come back to LV.

During "peak" times? Geez, maybe if I drove at 35 mph all the way...

The original poster would be interested in Overton, Mesquite, Pahrump, or that new Coyote Springs master planned community...
