I know a girl from high school that does exotic dancing up in Portland...I understand Instagram is just a "positive" look into someone's life, but if it's any judgement, she does pretty well for herself!

After work some night, you might want to hang around the elevator banks at, say, Bellagio or Cosmos, and dressed very provocatively, like a Hooker, pretending you're meeting up with a friend. And play it to the hilt to draw the attention of the vice squad who are forever prowling these places.

A nurse, provocatively dressed, was detained by the police some while back, was accused of being a Hooker, she got herself a lawyer, had to go through 3 court dates (she lived out of town) and she won an $80k settlement against the Police Department.

Not trying to talk you out of dancing, if you want to dance go for it. You mention paying off student loans; if you obtained your degree and are attractive enough to strip (and pull down good bread) have you thought about pharmaceutical sales? You can make really good money in this position.

I worked very briefly as a car salesman at Tobin dodge in Henderson, I don't know if she still there or not but there was a saleswoman there by the name of Claudia... She was absolutely stunningly beautiful She was good with the customers and was knowledgeable about the cars and she was pulling over $10,000 a month just selling them

To the OP,

You can make a bucketload of money doing this, but only for so long. Make sure you have an exit strategy available, and make sure you don't get sucked into the lifestyle. I don't know how old you are, but by 35, you need to be on your way to doing something else.

I think he's trying to tell her she should treat the justice system as a cash register

Okay. She'd make more as a stripper.

I worked at Towbin a couple years ago. No Claudia.

It's about time someone actually answer the question:

I have friends in the adult industry. Mostly in video. But some strip, too. Many of the AV performers get into AV to increase their revenue as a stripper.

Take everything you've ever heard about the industry and any preconceived notions about dancers/porn-stars and throw them away. There is only one stereotype that fits these people -- they're all exhibitionists. Anyone who ISN'T an exhibitionist isn't going to do well.

It is not enough to have good looks and be physically fit. Successful people have to have the right attitude, as well. If this is something you really want to pursue, you can take pole-dancing classes in Las Vegas and probably elsewhere. The really good performers are able to bridge the gap between "titillation" and "art." But even those performers are not making their living off the people who toss $1 bills their way -- they're making it with the private dances. Either you can live with that, or you can't.

And keep in mind that this is something you can't "dabble" in -- once you're in, you're pretty much guaranteed to be recognized occasionally by strangers for the rest of your life. The more successful you are, the more this will happen.
