First, they would have to extend Hollywood down to Russell. Hollywood doesn't even make it to Flamingo currently. Technically it goes a little past D.I., but there's a big road block just West of that intersection. So Hollywood is useless for through traffic anywhere past Vegas Valley. Then, it's all dirt track all the way to Henderson.

If every Wal*Mart were to close for want of business, it would mean things are looking up for this nation.

What sane person wants to live within earshot of a military airbase? Just my neighbors constantly saying, "That's the sound of freedom (TM)," would drive me postal. Let alone the actual jet noise.

My opinion of fighter jets is the same as the Victorian notion about children: Seen but not heard.
Wherever you have Weekly/Monthly rentals around, guaranteed there will be sketchy people around and there is one across the street from this store.

Not everyone that resides in those Weekly/Monthly rentals are trouble but basing my opinion from years of working as an Auditor in one of the largest Weekly/Monthly rentals in town, Bigelow's Budget Suites.

Not surprised. Whenever I go to a superstore nearby its nearly empty. I wouldn't ever bother going if it weren't for check cashing.

But the Target Superstore a block away is always busy.

While the people there may be "trashy", please remember that not everyone is as privileged as you. The area is low income and people rely on that remote bus stations there for access to town. (The next nearest full service supermarket is where???) This was perpetuated by the "scared of minorities" people at Nellis AFB that spread the rumor to not go to that wal mart because it was dangerous. Ive stopped there many times instead of driving through the gate then driving 5 miles per hour on base and getting pushed to the back of the line by people wearing uniforms or standing in a long line of people living pay check to pay check. That one was great for convenience stops and I never felt unsafe. An empty big box store at that location will be more dangerous and blight the area more so than it already is perceived to be.

This is going to suck for the old folks and the working poor that don't have cars in the area. Once again, trashy low lifes with no regard for others erode the quality of life of everyone around them.

This is why real estate in the nicer parts of town costs so much even though it's cookie cutter and boring. It's simply to price out the low lifes.

This sucks for the decent people that can't afford the differential.

OOOPS! Sorry. My mistake. It's at Boulder HWY and Russell. They have already started surveying.
