ahh stop. Neither Faith Lutheran or Bishop Gorman is particularly religious. Either will take an atheist kid if you agree not to be obnoxious about it. They provide an education level below that of Meadows and similar to the better public schools with a safe and rational environment. And at a much more reasonable cost than Meadows.

Their idea of "being obnoxious about it" is being as vocal about a lack of religion as they are about being religious.

I cannot put this more bluntly: This wouldn't happen if it was a run-of-the-mill public school. This is only happening because it's a faith-based school. The only way this could be more "holiest of holies" is if they had mandatory firearm classes and accepted vouchers.

Meadows in similar circumstances would have done it in a NY minute and they would have been taking on heavy neighbors...Adelson among them.

Public schools would never have the need. But watch the battle when a public high school tries an unpopular site. CCSD would like another high school at a site they own at Alexander and Tee Pee. But the locals don't want it and the need is not for the locals but to assist Summerlin. Don't hold your breath.

That proposal was rejected by residents (including Peccole Ranch residents), so instead of having one entry from Hualapai, now they have none. Some say the residents got what they deserved.
The Peccole Ranch people say that the traffic engineer vetoed the new road idea because it was too close to another road on the other side of the street. It would have been too expensive to have staggered that intersection to put a signal on both sides and would have placed three signals within about 900 feet of each other. One at Lake Bed, another 200 feet north at the new Homestretch and another 600 feet further north at the school and existing Homestretch.

This is second hand info but it certainly is a logical conclusion.

Look at a map for a street called Lake Bed and the next street north is Homestretch along Hualapai. There would have been three signals between those two streets and the vetoed one on the other side of the road.

My opinion just changed if this is true. This puts the problem directly on the homeowners.
There is no contradiction there. The county gave the church an acre of public land worth $700k.

I drove by Homestretch yesterday and it was opened to normal traffic, are there still plans to close the road?

Mid or late 2017 is the projected time. A signal must be constructed at Blue Willow/Sahara and the final site project must be approved before Homestretch is given to Faith Lutheran.

Funny how churches who do not pay any taxes can get things done that other businesses that do pay taxes can't...
