I did a ride along with an instructor in a Corvette. The guy was drifting hard and it was definitely fun.

My nephew went for his 21st b'day. Said it phenomenal.
It was fun to watch the video ... you could see the joy (and intense focus ) on his face.

Went out there yesterday to watch my sister drive the Ferrari 458 Italia and my wife surprised me with an anniversary gift and told me to sign up.

I signed up to drive the Nissan GT-R. WOW! Was that fun!

About the only tip I can offer to anyone thinking about it is to buy a couple extra laps. It really takes 3 laps or so to get comfortable with whatever car you choose as well as the track layout. The default driving package is 5 laps but I am glad I bought the 2 extra (an extra $40).

https://youtu.be/T1esVDyvJVg is my video.

About the first 2.5 minutes are my copilot explaining the car to me. But then I hit the track for 7 fun filled laps. The track is 1.2 miles with 7 turns. You get the most speed on the straight away that is about 1/3 of a mile and I hit a top speed of 116 or 117MPH. My fastest complete lap was 57 seconds but I think I was on pace on my last lap to beat that by perhaps .3 - .5 seconds. But we had to slow down as the fun was ending.

I hope to be able to do it again some day. IT WAS A BLAST!

Back in NC I was working at US Foodservice. It was 40 minutes each way at the speed limit. I was working 6 14-16 hour days. By the time I got home and a shower and food, I only had 6 hours to sleep. I got an extra hour almost by doing 110mph the entire way. If I was running late, I'd peg the speedo at 120.

Greenville was 43 miles away. I once made that trip in 18 minutes, in my Z, at 150mph.

That being said, I want to get out there and do some laps in a proper supercar, and see what I can do.
When I have the time, I don't have the money, when I have the money I don't have the time.

I just saw some news about a new track at the south end of the strip being paved recently. Anyone have info on this place?
