Actually the LVCVA may be seizing the initiative. Talk about extending their Borer hole down the strip and to the airport.

Interesting that the Borer Company is going to finance the job off the revenue it will produce. No government money. Now that will be a good trick...but maybe it will work in this particular construct.

I'm absolutely sure it loses money, so does any bus system. And the roads, side streets, freeways lose lots of money every day, as they deteriorate, and they need to be repaved eventually with tax payer's dollars.

In some ways, I hope Las Vegas never gets any light rail and let it be the laughingstock of the country. The biggest laughingstock is calling conservative Las Vegas Sin City! Anyone seen any sin in Las Vegas in the last 30-40 years since the Mob left?

Most bus systems run near break even or even turn a minor profit unless very poorly managed. The economics are well known, and it's exactly why there are numerous profitable bus companies in operation in the US.

Roads and freeways generate more return in enabling commerce than they eat up in construction and maintenance. Hell, in Las Vegas the county doesn't even build most of the roads, the housing/commercial developers do!

Las Vegas is pretty solid blue so I'm not sure why you keep rambling on about "conservative Las Vegas."

This town is loaded to the gills with degenerates, drug addicts, hookers, and gangsters so there's your Sin City for you.

LOL this is comically stupid. City or regional bus and transit systems in the US never make a profit. A line or two might make a little money but whole systems are subsidized everywhere. They are a public service, they arent expected to be profitable on their own. They are seen as a cost of having a productive economy much like roads are.

RTCSNV is net positive on business operations (bus service) nearly $545 Million for FY2018. This is offset by government service (roads and bridges) net negative approx $501 Million leaving yearly total net positive by approx $44 Million. Compare to FY2017 with a net total loss of ~$28 Million. Pretty close to break even, eh? Minor profit, eh?
