i would agree thinking of little ones in vegas sounds strange. no worries though they are older, but will always be our kids.

What age are your kids?

Also, be sure to look at things such as Tix 4 Tonight, discounts on vegas.com, etc.

ScoopLV should chime in here. He can give you the best information about food on the strip, but even the off-property restaurants charge more on the strip than other parts of the city (with the exception of fast food joints).

You know, back in the 80's I was living in the Midwest and trying to decide where to take my one-week vacation from my $8/hr job. I had saved up some money and a travel agent suggested that I go to Hawaii since they had some really good fly/hotel packages. I mentioned that I wouldn't be able to pay for food there, and she said, well, there are McDonalds there, too. I told her, "If I'm going to eat at McDonalds, I can stay at home." My point being, if I couldn't afford the dining, I should look elsewhere. Perhaps you should also.

Even the food courts at the big hotels are much more expensive than your local mall food courts

Many off strip places (and perhaps some on though I do not frequent the strip so I couldn't tell you for sure) offer free or comp food when you sign up for their players club. Silverton for instance will give a free buffet if you sign up and earn 100 points (I think) which is pretty easy to do. The M will give $25 credit for any restaurant in the building for an hour of play after signing up.

I am sure that there are others.

I would REALLY consider staying downtown and then take the buis to the strip.
Food is much cheaper and I believe the california casino still has a food & ROOM OFFER but I doubt they are going to include kids.

Food is MUCH more expensive on the strip.

Maybe look to rent a timeshare and then you would have a kitchen and more room for the family.

i found a hotel on the strip and booked the trip with food included. for those who are mixed up about the kids i keep reiterating yes they are kids, but we are not talking babies. they enjoy working out at the gym, going to the pool, eating at the restaurants and seeing the shows. i know most people need a car to move, but we like to walk. most vacations we walk over 5-8 miles a day easily. on the strip we usually walk way down the strip stopping at the hotels and then back.
