Politicians and Washington are definitely warming up to a wider adoption of 'sports gambling'. Given that historically it would be an auto-no chance by the leagues, today that isn't the case which makes professional sports franchises eyeing Las Vegas a much more real possibility than ever before. Evolution I guess, and long overdue.

Obviously Las Vegas is appealing, but the lack of a massive population density year round I think hurts there chances. And most there are probably transient and form somewhere else and therefore would have rooted for another team their whole life. That might make it more difficult for 'Las Vegas Raiders' to become widely adopted by locals, or any other franchise moving there.

Not sure if Vegas offers enough though. When you hold that City up among many others who are in bids for an NFL franchise, like London England.

Vegas would have a problem getting fans, and most ex lifelong Raider fans, are sooo loyal I actually think they would boycott the Raiders for moving. Ala the Browns fans when they moved to Baltimore. And not just accept it and go to Vegas to see there once much beloved Oakland, Raiders. And OAKLAND of all places lol, not so sure those fans would take that move very well. Then factor in how most Vegas people are transients, and fans of other teams its my belief this wouldn't be nearly as lucrative a move as some posters above believe.

Be fun to watch how it unfolds though if it happened.

If they have not done so, the Oakland people should take action to separate the team name, logo and Mascot from the team that might move away.

Somehow, Las Vegas Raiders just doesn't roll right.

Neither did LA Raiders, for that matter.

Oakland should follow the Cleveland tack.

Oakland people don't own the team name, logo or Mascot.

The owner of the Cowboys is really for this move. He thinks it will make the NFL more popular and having the Superbowl played in Las Vegas on a rotation is a good thing.

Los Angeles is the 2nd largest city in the country and has a huge number of Raiders fans. People already come to Las Vegas on weekends from California, it's not a big leap to think you could pull an easy 20K from there for home games. That's almost a third of the proposed stadium right there before a single local buys a ticket.

The population of Las Vegas is misleading because no city grows in size like Las Vegas when there is a major event on a weekend. An example of this is when there is a fight. With professional football there will be eight additional events every year. Also, fans from the opposing team will flock to Vegas when their team is playing. This already happens for many teams and will be even greater in Vegas. Fans will plan a whole weekend around their favorite team playing in Vegas.

There won't be a problem filling the stadium.

Raiders were more popular during their LA era... and will probably be more popular in Las Vegas since there is no shortage of thugs here

Do you wan to bet it

We need a metric and a non scammy one. Ill bet you the Raiders fans actually revolt, and the team here, is largely left looking for new fans. The metric has to be set beforehand and then we can bet.
