I just moved to Vegas 2 days ago and currently renting an apartment month to month while looking for a house to buy. What can you tell me about living in the Mountains Edge area. Thanks

I would look for a short term lease and look around for YOURSELF for about 6 months, at least.
The valley can be very diverse and opinions very. There are areas I had been told were awful and it turns out by my standards that they are quite acceptable.

Things can also change dramatically in just a couple blocks. So there is no substitute for getting boots on the ground so to speak.

I'm sure there are probably some good builders but I can't say I've been at all impressed by the quality of any of the lower end homes I've been in over there inspite of how nice they look on the outside.

Depending on your price range you may be able to find an already upgraded resale that was built better for the same money in a more established area. Alot of people like it over there tho.

What are your interests? Do you commute? I can give you a better answer with a little more info.

It's a nice area but is having growing pains. The roads really weren't ready to handle the traffic out here. Most people complain about convenience (distance to grocery etc.) which I don't personally think is bad. I get aggravated at the additional time it takes to get anywhere due to the increased traffic.

I think Robojester gave you some good advice about short term leasing. Things here do change frequently. There's really no outward appearing 'bad' part to Mountains Edge at the moment. Everything is fairly new and still building out. The HOAs and Master Plan keep everything looking good for the most part.

I decided after visiting Mountains Edge that it was too far out there. I"m sticking to Silverado Ranch and will be checking out Enterprise. Already put an offer on a house but lost out to an all cash buyer.
