My mother-in-law lives in Tampa and thinks Vegas winters are cold. She won't come out there between November and March. We are in the Chicago area and don't think Vegas winters are cold, per se, but it can get a little chilly at night. Not a big deal, IMO.

Unless the wind is blowing 40 mph there haven't been many days when I couldn't play golf in Vegas at any time of the year. Winters there are better (warmer and dryer) than what Chicago has from about October to May. Last Saturday the high for the day was 45* here. Vegas was warmer that that in January.

In a NYC heat wave the feel of Vegas summer may be comparable, but the heat in Vegas doesn't stop. There are plenty of tolerable periods in NYC in summer when it's nice.

I'm from the South where it's hot AND humid - Vegas summers don't faze me...
