The thing is massive. I have found the room I want to put it in and am hoping it will fit it the horizontal sliding window.

Unfortunately, there's no close water spigot on that side of the house, I could really use a recommendation for a handyman/plumber that won't rip me off

you dont need either all you do is go to lowes buy a spigot that also has the 1/4 connection on it and it screws right to your front or backyard spigot heck i run my supply line about 30-35 feet to get to the swampy

like this but we dont use copper we use plastic to supply the water to the swampy

Here's the McCarran National Weather Service highs and lows for June to date. They have data up to June 27 as I post this. Whoever put out the 10 day forecast below did well imho. McCarran got up on 115F on June 20 and the forecast below was 112F in Henderson.

Looks like I may have missed the best window to get the swamp cooler installed, with humidity going up i mean. nevertheless, i still want this thing installed so i'll be ready for next summer and anything in between

Not sure if the picture above makes sense, blue=window, red=door... if you stand in the study and look out the double door, you see a stair case that leads to the lower level (neither of which are depicted).

I want to put the swamp cooler in the study, but am unsure if the master bedroom will get sufficient cooling, i.e. I'm worried the cool air will just blow directly to the stair and then just go downstairs and stay there

any thoughts?

My two cents: If you have to put the cooler in the study, leave all fans on, keep downstairs windows closed or open just a little, and leave mater and kitchen windows open as much as needed.

you will be fine you regulate what rooms you want to cool by what windows you open and how much you open them in fact i bet the master gets downright cold (when the humidity is low) overnight even on low setting

I got a new central ac unit this year replacing a 12 year old unit. These summer bills have been %30-40 less even with keeping it cooler inside. Definitely worth it.

Our AC bill is going to $170 this month and projected to be $200 next month! It's never been this high in the past two years.

Our bill was around $185 this last month. Probably around the same for next month. Maybe up to $200 for August. But after that, it's all downhill.
Plus, we would save even more if we could update the 13 1/2 year old ac unit. Money we do not have.
