Quote is in regards to Silver 7's but I would totally disagree. As I said, its too small and not that good.

Something has changed at the Orleans and Sam's Town. Those buffets used to be good but not so much anymore. I was at the Orleans last night for seafood and the quality was way off. The scampi was mushy and the crab all had brown spots. And the Orleans is not cheap on seafood night! I don't know if this has happened at all Boyd properties. I will go to Main Street tomorrow and see.

One of the best cheap buffets is Arizona Charlie's Boulder. They do NOT have a huge selection and their desserts are not great. But their regular food is quite wonderful. Their roast pork and beef are world class. They always have fried shrimp and a shrimp, tomato, cilantro salad that is amazing. Their brisket is not as good as Main Street but it's close. And they will make sandwiches to order while you wait. There are always a few different things. Their trout is good and last time I was there they had chicken pot pie. There is never a long line!

It is certainly nice but it's not $43 nice, which is what it will cost you for Dinner. On weekends it goes up to $50. No way no how; as expensive as Bacchanal is I'd rather spend my $$ there. I still find Bacchanal overpriced, but it DOES have a number of unique touches, like a large selection of cured meats, steamed hot crab legs, some unique Asian items, Kobe sliders (very unlikely it is Kobe beef, but good nonetheless) & stuff like mango juice.

Of the other buffets mentioned, Paris & Planet Hollywood are nice but not great value if we're talking inexpensive. Paris used to be better but they basically cut back their nice cheese selection to garden variety stuff; they still do have the best Andouille sausage I've found at any buffet. I tend to prefer PH, as they have a number of nice items including a middle eastern section & generally very good paella. An added bonus is you go below the casino so the buffet is generally much more quiet & peaceful than the often noisy obnoxious traffic in PH. Rio's Carnival World buffet can be a decent value if you get in just before dinnertime & take advantage of the locals discount (25% for most people; 50% if you are Diamond or above M-F & Sunday for dinner); sadly, the seafood buffet is just one tiny section of the Carnival World Buffet these days & isn't what it used to be. You can still get plenty of seafood options like Crab Legs, shrimp & often salmon or other types of fish at the regular buffet.

For value, I like Aliante's buffet

Medley Buffet | Aliante Gaming

Breakfast is $6.99, Lunch $8.99 & Dinner $11.99

It's not as good as mid-tier buffets like Paris or Planet Hollywood, but if we're talking value it takes the cake. Food is generally fresh & well prepared tho of course at times it could be better; for breakfast, I love getting fresh-made eggs & egg-white omelettes & the bacon is always good & plentiful. As an added bonus, if you have a higher level player's card & pay with points it gets cheaper. I pay 1/2 price, or $3.50 for breakfast, $4.50 for Lunch & $6.00 for Dinner if I use points (which I always do). They mail out offers every few months for B1G1 buffet so you can get that same pricing 1 or 2 times every 3 months. Saturdays they have Steak night for dinner which is $15.99, I use points to get it for $8.00. Great stuff.

i've been to the Bacchanal Buffet.. i thought for the money, it was lousy.. i'll take Bellagio any day over the Bacchanal.

I agree on Aliante. It is a basic buffet but it is reasonably priced.

I didn't notice anyone mention the JW Marriot/Rampart Casino buffet (summerlin area). With their rewards card, during the week, the lunch buffet is around $8 (IIRC), which for today is a pretty cheap lunch when you consider meal, drink, and dessert. We stayed there a couple times during our move here, and the food was certainly better than the typical $8 lunch you'd get anywhere else. Since moving here, haven't been near there when it's lunch time, but we will someday I'm sure..

Boyd's properties have been adding new restaurants. I wonder if it's not a coincidence that their buffets undergo some sort of degradation as the news restaurants go in? They could also play games to increase the buffet lines & wait times in order to try to steer business to the other restaurants in a casino.

For me, it's hard to beat the Station Casinos buffets, though the buffets at the Fiesta ___, ____ Station, and Green Valley Ranch/Red Rock Casino are different tiers of size/quality, just like the rest of the properties.

I had dinner at the Fiesta Henderson Buffet Monday night for about $8. That's $6 for the buffet, using a 50% discount coupon I get each month for having the Stations affinity card (I signed up for the card & get the coupons, though I don't gamble) & then a $2 tip because I sat there for two hours. Of course it's not as good at the M, or MGM, but for $8, I got a big salad & several main courses, plus desert & iced tea. My belly was just as happily full as it would have been had I paid $40 for a higher-class buffet.

The ____ Station buffet is a little more expensive than the Fiesta. They usually have a few more items available. The GVR/Red Rock buffet is about $17 for dinner, and has a few more items, or at least higher-value items, than the Station buffet.

But another nice feature is that there are Fiesta/Station Casinos all over the LV area, plus GVR & Red Rock, so you can basically get a decent, relatively inexpensive buffet fairly close by. The Palace Station buffet is about equal with the Sunset Station buffet, but Sunset Station is less crowded & in my limited experience, has a better clientele. No-way will I try Boulder Station due to the sketchy people I've seen in their parking lot.

I've not been to a lot of the more expensive buffets here -- I'm a %$#& vegetarian, so despite being a glutton that'll sit at a buffet for 2 or 3 hours, it's hard to get my money's-worth if I go to a buffet that costs over $25.

When I *do* however, I definitely notice the more pricey buffets seem to pay better attention to each & every item in terms of flavor & freshness. When I want to 'splurge' on myself, I go to the M Resort Buffet (still being a cheap SOB, I get there in-time for the lunch pricing, but stay well into the dinner timeframe). I agree that the Palms & Silverton buffets are very good, but in the medium-price range, and by the way, if you get to the Palms Buffet for lunch, they do the best they can to stop you from getting the dinner menu items once they start transitioning.

On my last couple of visits, I got a good deal for the Mirage lunch buffet. If I remember right, it costs $24 full price. Those half price ticket booths were selling $2 tickets to make the buffet half price, plus the $2. I'm pretty sure we got in the buffet for about $15 including tax.

There is a fantastic selection there, and wine and beer is included in the price........

Default Red Rock is very good

Wild West Dude stated that the Palms was a pretty good buffet. Wow! no way terrible! worst buffet I have been to in Vegas considering the Palms is supposed to be an ok casino. I mean... dirty.... food was terrible.... not much selection. I couldnt even eat anything but a few eggs. Now, if you want a somewhat inexpensive buffet that is clean and the food is pretty darn good.... go to Red Rock Casino. NO, its not the Bellagio or Aria but is less than half the price and excellent. It is very clean and thats what I like. I respect all opinions but I wanted to get my two cents in. Thanks!

Well, these things are subject to change and it could have well gone down hill since my last visit last summer . My experience was very good.
I stated the same thing about Red Rock as you did

Your experience at Palms is the same as mine. It was so disgusting I didn't even want to drink their Coca-Cola.

Sounds like the one we had last year at the palace station. Went in there thinking "station buffet, gotta be good right?" WRONG! My stomach still turns thinking about it.
