I can't believe the citizens of Nevada would buy into such a sucker bet. There must be way too many free stuffer immigrants from commieformia here to buy into this white elephant.
Keep in mind that in Minnesota, the land for US Bank Stadium was free as it was the site of old Metrodome. Private land did not have to be purchased for the project.

The land for sale for the site at Russell Road site is listed at $40 million (2.1%) of the proposed $1.9 billion so it is a mostly irrelevant portion of the overall cost. For some reason it is listed as a $375 million expense in the Sands proposal.

But as you said, we will find out.
More to this. MLS denied the owner of the Vikings an MLS franchise and went with the bid by the Minnesota United FC because their plan included a smaller, outdoor venue. MUFC is currently playing at a small soccer only facility and is building a new soccer only 20K capacity stadium in St. Paul.

I have a feeling that MLS would want the same should a team be placed in Las Vegas.

Right, I mentioned that in the other thread (there probably shouldn't be three of these). The point is what costs twice the entire Centennial Bowl project from start to finish to build around the site in terms of infrastructure? There won't be a new exit and a bridge across the interstate looks impossible with Mandalay Bay there and Frank Sinatra feet from the highway.

SNTIC calling a special meeting Sept. 8th about the stadium. IMO sounds like this could be the meeting that passes the stadium to the next step.

Here's one for the "tourists can afford a tax increase" crowd that have not kept up on our woefully inadequate education system.

$750M for a stadium? Here
