I was just dumbstruck over this statistic. No wonder we have such low wages here. The labor market has no shortage of people willing to work for whatever amount, just to get by.

Here's the article..

With the hospitality industry being what it is in Nevada, I'm not really surprised at that number. I would like to know what percentage of the immigrants are legal. That statistic might be more shocking.

that's because there's a huge amount of low skill jobs in Nevada. Somebody has to work said jobs.

Dude, they want to pay tech workers here $16 an hour. Waiters make more than that. It's not about low skills. It's about exploitation.

I notice that Bob List is one of the sponsors of this legislation.

What tech jobs are you talking about? I've applied for several that pay much better than that.

Make sure you get that job offer in writing before moving here.
I like you. I think you'd be a great addition to the community. Just understand what you are getting into.

There's a reason I've been in the Bay Area ( expenses paid ) for the last five months.

Interesting article.

Let's also take into consideration that LV attracts many young people who are just clueless when they relocate so regardless of the immigrants there will always be an easily exploitable population segment in need of work here.

Isn't this true of every big city, NY in particular?
