I've never had energy events override my thermostat settings on TOU option A. Maybe yours is different.

Is this a typo, or do I need to learn another acronym. "NVE" ?

Because the pricey on-peak rates go from June-Sept on plan A. Don't have to worry about it if you start in October, where your power is REALLY cheap 24/7

I think the best time to start is right away so you can have an idea of what to expect/do when the real summer starts again

Last summer I did ask. They said they would. They didn't.

This sounds like a lot more effort than it's worth. My highest bill is a tick over 200. Most of the year it's between 50 and 80. 1900sq ft house with 2 kids. I keep the thermostat at 84 and run ceiling fans. Make yourself get used to the heat and it's fine and helps you outside. Freezing your house early and letting it heat up to save a few bucks is crazy. Changing fridge temps twice a day is twice as crazy.

Ten months of the year you could save $25 to $40 per month.
