When a lawsuit is fixed i small claims court in Clark County, the first thing the Court does with the case is send the parties to mediation at the Neighborhood Justice Center. The NJC offers mediation services to any Clark County resident, and the service is provided at no cost to the parties in the dispute.

So, you may be able to avoid the entire court process if you and the other party can agree to first go to the NJC for mediation. No lawyers are required. If you mediate, but cannot agree on how to resolve your dispute, then you can hire lawyers and file lawsuits if necessary. But lawsuits should always be the last resort.
