Just going by the limited info here, I hope you are heading into this with the awareness that the kid is in no way the only problem.

I hope you all are able to find the help that is needed.

He is eating somewhere. If he is 15 just sit him down and say look I'm here for you and here are your options. Finish high school and go to college or join the military but if he gets documented from acting out they may not take him. So in 2.5 years or abouts if he wants to leave and go on his own he can.

Just let him know his options and let him make the decision. If he gets in or causes trouble the military option gets slim. If he messes up in school the college option gets slim. Everything is in his court. Just be careful and don't let him mess up your life going forward.

Sometimes the best help is a reality check and kids need to understand after 18 to be real
It's on you. I know of one situation where a problem was told at 18 he was an adult and all the back talk and craziness would stop. Kid didn't believe his father so on the day he turned 18 the father put up a hammock in the back yard and said your on your own and he stuck by it. After a few days the kid joined the army and shipped out. Today it isn't as simple to just join the military but kids today need a reality check.

Then there's another one from back in the day the kid turned 18 and the parents moved with no forwarding address. Not to be cold but at 18 one is considered an adult and has the right to live as they so choose. Hope things work out but be careful and control your actions as best you can.
