I've tried to call 311 to report all the cars with no tags. There were nine one night. I always end up on eternal hold. Anyone have a better idea?
in Ohio, there was a specific branch of the department of motor vehicles that dealt with this... try dealer licensing.. they usually have investigators...

311 answered a call tonight. They ran the VINs. The cars weren't stolen and that was that. They didn't seem to care that there were four unregistered vehicles parked in the street in front of no homes or that they arrived by flat bed tow truck which I had on video.

Unfortunately it seems there is no enforcement of obvious law breaking because it doesn't involve violence. I was looking for something to tip the scales on me putting a for sale sign in the yard. Unfortunately it will be hard to sell with this junk car business going on out front.

This guy has decided to dump used antifreeze and oil out in the street and in people's yards. He knows nobody can do anything about it. This is really frustrating. The EPA website says this is a local issue. I guess he can just single-handedly wreck a once-nice neighborhood because the local govt doesn't care.

If he's dumping stuff like that in the street, it's potentially storm water pollution. The city I work for (street department) storm water pollution is watched pretty tight. They fine folks for dumping crap in the road and in the storm sewers.

Here's a link to the contact us site: :: Stormwater Quality Management Committee ::

Here's the info if you don't want to go to another site:

How to Report Illegal Dumping:

Illegal/illicit dumping and discharges (e.g., trash, oil, sewage, and chemicals) are a major cause of storm water pollution. Public witness complaints provide the most common source of information. Illegal/illicit dumping and discharges should be reported to the jurisdiction where the activity is taking place.

If you witness illegal/illicit dumping or discharges you should call:

City of Henderson
(702) 267-3028 (Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:00pm; Public Works)
(702) 267-5000 (After hours; Henderson Police Department)

City of Las Vegas
(702) 229-6594 (Environmental Compliance Section)

City of North Las Vegas
(702) 633-1313 (Public Works)
(702) 633-1677 (Code Enforcement Division)

Clark County
(702) 455-4191 (Public Response Office)

In addition to your local jurisdiction (who you should call first!), the Southern Nevada Health District may also be able to respond to illegal/illicit dumping complaints. The Southern Nevada Health District Environmental Health Division can be reached at: (702) 759-0600, Monday - Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, or (702) 759-1000, after hours. Many local jurisdictions also have complaint forms that can be completed online. See your local jurisdiction’s website for more details.
Good luck.

It is in Summerlin but this is a likely squatter. The HOA is fining the home but the owner is MIA. The house appears to be in foreclosure or close to it.

Hank - That is the next step. I'm going to give it into the new week since this is a holiday weekend.

Uncle Moon - I called but I think they are away on holiday. I will call them Monday. I'm pretty sure a neighbor has it on video. I've witnessed it.
