For MGM Resorts only.

I am not a big fan of MGM's charging for self parking but... here is a way to get free self parking by means of signing up for their MLife MasterCard credit card -- where one of the benefits offered is automatic upgrade of status to a MINIMUM of Pearl status which has 3 main benefits:

- Complimentary Self Parking at Las Vegas Resorts
- Buffet Line Pass at Las Vegas Resorts
- 10% Bonus on Points and Express Comps for your gaming spend.

There is no need to spend any money on the credit card. You can sign up and just leave it in your sock drawer.

Here is the fine print:

"TIER MEMBERSHIP AT PEARL STATUS: If an Account is issued, the tier of the M life Rewards membership associated with the Account will be automatically set at Pearl unless it was already at a higher tier level. Please note that it can take up to 14 days after the Account is opened for the benefits associated with Pearl to be reflected on the M life Rewards account. While the tier of the M life Rewards membership associated with the Account may still be advanced based on the number of Tier Credits earned, the M life Rewards tier will remain at least Pearl as long as the Account remains open. Once the Account is closed, however, M life Rewards tier membership will be based solely on the terms and conditions of the M life Rewards Program."

All the tier levels and their benefits: https://www.mlife.com/en/overview/m-...-benefits.html

Link to sign up for the credit card: https://www.mlife.com/en/overview/ml...astercard.html

I hope this helps alleviate some headache for those who want to visit the MGM properties but do not want to pay for parking. Yes... you will get a hard pull on your credit.

Is there an annual fee?

If I lived in LV, spent any appreciable time in MGM resorts (which I probably would, playing poker), and getting/keeping the the card didn't cost me anything, I would consider it.

Where does the Pearl status stand as far as using the Valet? Is there any price break?

Here's a better option. Go to blackjack or slots and win $10. There's your parking. What people really should do is not tip anyone until your ahead at least $10. Management will hear about it.
Yet after the first of the year the shock value will be over and we will just pay.

Nowhere on that tier benefits page does it mention free self-parking

The Tier benefits website is just not yet updated.

Here is the official MGM parking website that shows what each tier offers in terms of self and valet parking
