No, I had my procedure in May, 2007, but am still trying to comprehend, how in this day and age of health consious--green living America how such a travesty could happen---saving 50cents, or MDs educated abroad adhering to stone age knowledge??

I'm off to work... and to call the dr. It'll be interesting to see how they decide to handle the influx of patients and testing. Hopefully, I'll just be able to go in, give the blood, and be out of there.

good luck, Sheriff.

I'm guessing it's the foreign-educated doc issue. But you would think the clinic would have procedures, and the nurses and other docs and techs would have realized and said something.

From what I read, they were re-using single dose medicine containers. Insane.

Yes, but, WHY?? Does it take a 6-8 year education to realize the importance of sterilization?

My wife had her procedure done there in Dec. I'm hoping we are just plain lucky. From what I read or heard, the is the result of one or more idiot nurse-anesthesists being told to reuse cleaning solutions for the instruments and reusing the syringes.

If that's true, may they all rot in Hell and soon!

My wife's doctor told her that Hep. C can show up as late as six months after infection so we will have to wait for a final judgement until May.

I fully suspect that the doctors who own this place are already transferring their assets in the expectation of multi 100-million dollar lawsuits. And I can only hope that their business goes under and they end up in jail being "serviced" by someone named Bubba with a raging case of AIDS.

Yes, as I've posted before---what moron doesn't realize the importance of sterilization? I just cannot fathom any motive behind this, can you?

In a $5000 procedure, they want to screw the patient out of 50 cents? Makes no sense.

Let's say a syringe cost $50, will anyone refuse treatment based on a cost of $5050, as opossed to one that costs $5000?

I noticed at the news conference the Dr. in charge didn't ANSWER the questions, just read the prepared statement.

IGNORANCE, THIRD WORLD type practice. Wanting to save a little money and forego proper medical practices.

Whoever is responsible for this needs to go to jail...

Hope you Lola, your hubby and you Greg..are OK...my prayers are with you that you are not affected by this...
