You're right about him Greg...he was a pioneer in the then lasik surgery and made a big name for himself here in town...I remember reading a very positive article about him and the "new" lasik surgery..I was considering it at the time.

I remember being shocked when the news broke, that he had been arrested on drug charges.

Another Dr. took over the practice and seems to be doing well.

He did my eyes, and I wake every morning able to see----whether it was him, or someone else, I am thankful for the results. I really believe, he self-destructed before it had a negative effect on his work.

I know other folks who have had lasik with the same good results as you...I always wished I hadn't chickened out at the time and gotten it done.

Now, I've developed some kind of "dry eye" condition in the past couple years that prevents me from ever getting lasik.

He who hestitates, has lost...as the saying goes...you're lucky to have gotten it done, and by one of the best at the time.

Have you seeked more than one opinion? One Md told me I wasn't a canidate, but Buzard deemed me, "borderline", but do-able.

Yes, I've had two opinions, both Dr. Miller and Dr. Leibowitz, two highly respected eye surgeons here in town have both told me the same thing, I am definately not a candidate for lasik surgery.

My condition is sort of like glaucoma, but not exactly. The pressure in my eyes is too high, because there is not enough fluid surrounding the eyeball. It's a long term condition, kept under control by a drop of medicine in each eye at bedtime...

It has a name but jeez, I forget what it is...

Up until I was age 45 I had perfect vision. Then I started to have trouble seeing far away, got glasses. Then I started having trouble seeing up close. Had to get magnifiers...

I don't only suffer from CRS, I also have CSS...Can't See S$#$

Makes me almost like him again. Only thing is, they have 2 or 3 other clinics in Clark Co.

From what I heard, he was FURIOUS they were still operating. I'm wondering if the other clinics were investigated by the Health Department. Maybe they will be...soon I hope.

Yeah, Oscar makes me angry sometimes and he has his group of cronies and lushes, but you know, he really and truly loves Las Vegas.

About 3 years ago I sat with him in a booth at the Best of Las Vegas Award Show at the Stratosphere. He really and truly loves this city and had some neat ideas. He told me that's why he didn't run for Governor, he'd have to move away to Carson City. I love what he went on record as saying when the turtle sculptures under the Spaghetti Bowl were spray painted with graffitti..."Chop off their thumbs"....comical...

I think he's done a pretty good job with the downtown restoration project and a couple of other things too.

And I really liked what he did today with that clinic...

Plain, and simple, I am jealous of Oscar---- "I did it my way". At the same time he seems to adhere to the mob mentality, that all should have the right to earn, and applaud him for this. While the resorts have been "sterilized" in recent years, both he and I know the resorts operate in a nefarious manner, no different than those of strip clubs, hookers, and hustlers of all types. I only object to those recent citizens of LV that don't realize his ties to J H Brown, Harry Reid, R Rizzolo, A Spilotro, F Rosenthal, and basically the KC and Chicago mob. He has been a tireless pitchman for downtown, but I wonder if a more "professional" type might have brokered deals with major tech, medical, and financial companies.
