Gold and guns maybe. I have a wife and two daughters and I don't see where I'll ever get any return on the money I've spent.

When you have visited Las Vegas you may have seen some unfinished building projects. This article address's what happened to them and if they may ever be finished. When you click on the link once you see the picture click on the arrow to the right to view the different projects.

Abandoned projects leave lasting reminder of economic crash

It wasn’t long ago that hotels, high-rise condominiums and massive retail and office complexes sprang up in Southern Nevada seemingly faster than one could drive from one end of the valley to the other. Take that same drive today, though, and you’ll likely see vestiges of the Great Recession.

Zillow says our property there went from 133k to 144.6k in the far NW. It's been less than a year.
I guess if its too good to be true... Just look at comps right?

Yup...I would not be surprised to find localized areas with a yoy increase...particularly if they have low REOs at the moment.

Then again Zillow says my place is worth 60% of the guy next doors. However I pretty well know there is no way the guy next door can get more than 85 or 90% of what my place is worth. (I was the listing agent the last time that place sold and know it well) So a big discrepancy in there somewhere.

Maybe I missed some earlier discussion, but what the heck did Zillow just do with their Zestimates? Within 2 weeks, the estimated value of my property (thankfully rented) plummeted from 315k to 287k. Never seen that sort of sudden drop before.... This is for a 5 BR 3500 sq ft home in Summerlin/Pueblos.

An economy built on debt? Banks operating under the guise of stability??

Nonprime derivitives, phony ratings, et al.

People need to stop being foolish.
I have read a lot of your posts, and I am in near total agreement with you. Unfortunately, this country is full of polly anna's who cannot see beyond two feet in front of their face.
