Hi - we are looking for a non-casino hotel on or near the strip, which is not super expensive and nice, with some amenities like a bar and proximity to other hotels, casinos and bars.

We have not been to LV and are a bit overwhelmed with the information online. We are adults and prefer a more adult place, and are not interested in theme-y type places like Circus Circus.

Thank you in advance

Save a bunch of money and stay on Fremont Street. Better gambling too. Golden Nugget or more reasonable, Main Street Station or El Cortez. Just take the Deuce to the Strip. You can get a 24 hour pass for under $10.

Not super expensive, but nice, no casino, not obviously themed, bar yes.

What's not super expensive? That's subjective. Unless Circus Circus was the reference point.

Not super expensive without casino is going to get you motels without bars. Motel 6, Budget Suites, Days Inn, Super 8, America's Best Value Inn,

Modest - Nice with no casinos but may or may not have a bar may get you around $100/night give or take. Sheraton, Hilton, Marriott, Best Western, La Quinta Inn, Red Roof Inn, Travel Lodge, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn, Residence Inn.

Trump Hotel is nice with no Casino. Probably has a bar and rooms start at $104 a night.

Bars are everywhere too, or you can get your own alcohol at a store and take it to your room.

All the hotel casinos on the Strip are going to have prices for all ranges from cheap to expensive but they get you in the hidden resort fees later. Check Groupon and Living Social for discounted rates and sign up for their rewards for discounts on buffets/shows/ect on the properties, and also to receive emails on discounted room rates.

Themed ones on the south end of the Strip and also in the historic Downtown Las Vegas, which is pretty fun, have some of the lowest prices. Sometimes I just google a hotel I'm interested in with the word coupon and see what the random search generator comes up with and I can find a coupon for a room that way at the place I want to stay at.

Also look at google map at one of the hotels on Tropicana like Hooters and it will show you room rates next to the name on the map. If not hover or click on a hotel name briefly and you'll see room rates that way too. You can go up and down the Strip on the map, or a block or two to the east or west of it, and find motel/hotels with room rates as well that are off Strip but close.

Alexis Park is an all-suite non-gaming resort close to the Strip and has what you're looking for.

HGVC Elara and Marriott Grand Chateau are both very nice, primo real estate, and have bars.

They're timeshares. Don't say I didn't warn you.

Finding cheap downtown hotel rooms is becoming a thing of the past unless you can stay Mon-Thurs. Weekend rates have really gone up in the last few years.

You can't count on a bargain downtown anymore, even on drinks. When I was there last summer with a friend who likes to play video poker, I decided to put a few bucks in a machine at a bar at The Fremont before lunch and have a beer (which I assumed would be free) while I waited for her. I NEVER gamble, but thought it was worth one beer. I was told that I had to pay full price for my draft beer ($7 for a small pour) unless I put at least a $20 in the machine. No thanks. I told my friend I'd be out on Fremont wandering around when she was ready to come find me and cashed out without playing at all. Ended up finding an all day happy hour at the end of the block where I had a $2 beer and a 2nd story view of everyone walking by thanks to the balcony seating above. Bargains do exist, obviously, but they aren't everywhere as they once were. Even The Fremont's $2 Coronas has become $3 Coronas.

Look into Tuscany Suites. 1 block from the strip on Flamingo. It has a small casino which you're not looking for. But a nice pool, big rooms, cheap restaurant and pleasant grounds.

Basically:

MGM Signature
Platinum
Trump Tower
Hilton Grand Vacations on the Strip

You might find a good rate at Four Seasons, but I doubt it.

I'm never really sure why people would specify a non-casino hotel, especially when coming to vegas. The casino subsides the rooms so you'll always get a much nicer room and surroundings in a casino property, if you're anti-gambling just don't gambling, if you don't trust yourself not to gamble, go to Montana.

Failing any of that, you're looking at a fleabag motel.

Either of the Wyndhams. They are timeshares, but sell rooms too. They are very well appointed condos with everything you are looking for, and no casino.
