In the 52 years I've been here, I have felt exactly one earthquake, and that was actually a quake in California about 100 miles away or so. It was about 15 years ago. When they were causing the earth to quake by setting off over 1,000 Nukes at the test site, I never felt one of them, even though I got up one morning and leaned my head against the wall at the time of the blast.

That quake was probably the one that I felt about six months after moving into my house. I had never experienced a quake before, and I was asleep. I remember waking up, sitting on the edge of the bed and seeing the vertical blinds swaying. Then I remembered that the window was closed. It finally struck me what had just happened.
