Hello, I hope this is ok to post in this forum. If its not, please let me know Mods. The reason im posting on this forum is because Ive lived in Vegas for many years and been involved in the gaming industry for most of them. Many Vegas Vets know this town can really chew you up in its own unique ways..... LOL, Vegas. If any of you know a better forum with a good amount of traffic for these questions please let me know. This post might also give the folks thinking of moving here "Vegas" a glimpse of what can and DOES happen to people in Vegas if your not mature enough. After making what feels like EVERY mistake a person could possibly make in Vegas (Gambling,Drinking,Chasing the wrong type of girls,Drugs,I might be forgetting a few) all in EXTREME excess! (its true you can do alot of these things other places, but any long time Vegas resident, especially if they are involved in the service industry can tell you that Vegas puts it own unique spin on these vices...........I have now screwed myself so badly that I have put myself into a difficult position and I would like some honest mature advise. Hopefully from some older folks that have not led a sheltered life, but I welcome all honest/mature opinions. I have ZERO money,No job,Terrible Credit(so I doubt I can get a loan

Well as the saying goes, when you hit rock bottom the only way you can go is up. All I can advise is to get some help and try and start over. What other choice is there at this point?

Las Vegas, with all of its temptations, is probably not the right place for someone with little or no self-control. I'm not lecturing or judging, but maybe a fresh start somewhere else would be for the best.

From personal experience, I hit rock bottom living in LA in the mid-80's when I was in my 30's. No job, no money, but also no drug or gambling problems. I relocated, went back to school and went on the have a successful legal career. Maybe the most important thing is you have to be motivated to work hard and do it, but it can be done.

What skills do you have? What education? How's your health -- do you have any health restrictions on what you can do?

I understand where your coming from. You have to revise on who your "Friends" are, as they can play a big influence on your daily life and the things you do. If you've tried everything you can think of after that when it comes to finding a job in LV. I would recommend joining the military, it'll give you a fresh start. It won't be easy but you'll find a fit for yourself on a job your qualified for. Keep your head up and never give up.
