When I moved from Utah (full coverage 2007 F-150) it almost doubled. They told me it was because 24 hour alcohol sales. Probably a bull crap line but what do you do? You have to have it

So, I just got a call today from state farm. They told me my rate will be going up 60 a month due to some changes in state liability law. She didn't have any specifics on this, but now my insurance is 300 a month.

Isn't rideshare your primary use of the vehicle?

No. I'm a union carpenter. I am currently working in an automotive fabrication shop along with doing fabrication in my own garage. So, I kind of do a little bit of everything.
But either way, I told them I did rideshare when I signed up for the policy. They said they don't cover it.
When I have passengers, lyft provides the insurance. When I don't have passengers, it's like I am just driving my van as a normal driver.

I figure they just want to extract more money from me so they're making crap up. I'll have to shop around again.

There's a time when you accept the ping until you load, you are not covered by lyft.

I thought you didn't do rideshare? Insurance companies do one thing really well, gather data.

You asked if it was the primary use of my vehicle. It's not.

Anyways, I switch insurance companies every 18 months now, they seem to raise rates at that interval.

It's all over the map. Mine actually went down after moving here. I pay 1200 per year for two cars.
