Most of my friends (Californians) had a confused look when we tell them we don't go to the strip. They think living in Vegas must mean we love going to the strip so much.

Umm okay, lol yyess there are some really fun places locals like to go.. I like to hang out with all ages and walks of life so here are some good spots that should suit your tastes. (I'm 27 if that matters) Town square- McFaddens- definately a young place to go.. there are other clubs there and Gameworks which everyone can enjoy! Yardhouse has great food and happy hour. PTs is a chain "neighborhood bar" that you can find nearly everywhere in Vegas and you can expect the neighborhood feel. I can't remember if they allow smoking, or only in certain areas inside.. I know sometimes that is an issue. One of the most popular casinos for locals is Red Rock Station Casino. They have the best buffet I've ever had and we've enjoyed going to movies there as well. Kareoke bars are popular, as well as Pinot's Palette Wine and Paint type places. Downtown has changed since I've last been, I didn't go into many bars.. If you want a romantic little hole in the wall, I like the bar on the corner of the Ogden Condos (Ogden St.). I also like Cadillac Bar happy hour at the Golden Nugget. Some of my favorites, I hope it helps!

I wouldn't call it "nightlife" but I think the average is eat at a chain or Mexican restaurant and then go hang out at Lowe's or Home Depot.

That sounds exciting

If you live in Vegas, and that's all you can find to do, you have a serious lack of imagination.

Google Maps with the route saved on the home screen of my phone. Mentioned it to the group at my table at Ethnic Dining Club (McMullans this month ) and got lots of interest.

That sounds like our Saturday nights; eat out somewhere relatively cheap then go to Lowe's/Walmart/grocery store!
