I think single game tickets go on sale in a few weeks. There are a few games I will be snapping up tickets for.

Good luck getting single game tickets unless you go aftermarket on something like StubHub. I was looking at tickets for a game against Chicago on Oct. 24th, a Tuesday night, and a seat in the upper level in the corner was almost $100, and it went up from there.

Now if you want to go see Winnipeg on a weeknight they're probably less expensive, but who wants to do that?

A little OT, but I read that all 82 games will be on Root Sports, aka AT&T Sports Net. It's presently only offered on DirecTV and Dish but is expected to be picked up by the cable companies before the season starts.

Wait until they go on sale from the team. They won't be as expensive. You will probably have to move quickly though.

I love how I'm seeing more and more Knights gear throughout the Valley. I can't wait until all the NHL teams start rolling into town. I'm really looking forward to going to the Leafs (not a fan of theirs) game on New Years Eve, that should be a fun one. I'm sure Toronto fans will having a good away team presence at that game, those guys always travel well.

Best way is to watch as many games as you can on TV and you'll learn all the in's and out's of the game. The more hockey the better, college and minor league league hockey have the same rules as the NHL with just a few modifications like no fighting in college hockey. Hockey is definitely a harder sport to follow then most, as there are so many things going on at once but once you get it, its the greatest sport ever especially live.

Ever watch a women's lacrosse game? I coached for 3 years and still don't know all the rules!!

Hockey isn't that hard then again I've watched it for almost 50 years.

The basic rules aren't that hard to understand, e.g. icing, offsides, good goals vs. those disallowed, and what the various penalties are but it takes some time to really get it.

I played for a long time and have watched it since the 60's and every now and then some obscure thing will happen that I've never heard of.

Watching some games on TV will help because you have the announcers to tell you what's happening and they generally explain things pretty well. I'm sure that will especially be the case in Vegas where they know they have a lot of new fans.

"So those of you new to the game of hockey, that really is ice they play on. And believe it or not, they move around by pushing on little steel blades on the bottom of their sneakers......"
