Shocking.

https://www.reviewjournal.com/local/...or-separation/

"The city of Henderson agreed to pay out more than $163,000 to former city Police Chief Patrick Moers and more than $228,000 to former Deputy Chief Bobby Long under separation agreements."

Instead of paying them money to leave (retaining their gold-plated defined benefit pensions), they should be put on trial for their alleged crimes.

Are you sick of the two political parties who protect them? Only way this is going away is third party politics. Everyone in the system is bribed or blackmailed and they fear each other more than they fear you the citizen.

what do you think they are guilty of? I have followd it closely and the only thing that seems to come up is this "Friends of the Henderson Police" thing. That sounds like a thing that could be abused but was it?

The payments appear typical for high level LEOs retiring. While a good case may exist for reforming the LEO and firemen systems I see no reason why these two are unusual or need special scrutiny.

And also note this payment often is used to inflate the final salary often significantly increasing the pension payment.

Henderson government has a Mormon flavor. They tend to be somewhat conservative.

I loathe politicians, on both sides, more than you can fathom.
If I could lead a revolution I absolutely would. I would line Pennsylvania Ave with the heads of every elected official on pikes as a warning to the newly elected representatives.

This is a couple of senior LEOs retiring under the gun. No indication it is political.
