I'll be visiting soon with a friend who is wanting to find a good Japanese noodle house while we are there. She grew up in Japan and her mother was Japanese, so it needs to be authentic. Any suggestions?

Ooojah is my pick. How authentic are they? I'm not sure, they have a few locations around the valley

we've got an ohjah here in pahrump (they've expanded into vegas), so i've done lots of lunches & dinners there.

hibachi grill - chicken; ny steak; filet mignon; scallop; shrimp
lunchbox specials - beef yakisoba; chicken yakisoba; shrimp tempura

unknown how many/names of the specialty rolls. they are all good!

in pahrump we also have an eel dish, spicy i believe. i don't see it on the menu below, so maybe it's only available at certain locations? it was the only thing i wasn't ga-ga for.

Anything but Jinya. Jinya is, hands down, the worst ramen I have had in my life. All of their broths taste like fried chicken grease.
