Yeah MGM, Metro needs to get their stories straight. Too many cameras around- we know better. MGM especially is digging themselves a hole they are going to regret.

Really seems like they're hiding something
I've never been a fan of MGM, with them ruining Las Vegas. But I totally agree with you. They don't seem to be forthcoming about what really happened. Shame on them. Every time I read something about what they've said etc, it irks me. With a tragedy of this magnitude, they have no shame. If anything, hopefully they'll learn from this and update their security practices. Because as we can see, they're severely lacking in that department. Wynn seems like he's more on it with security.

I have something that needs to be said because it WONT be said by anybody else because it's an "in house" event.
In 2016--early in the year, the EXACT same scenario almost played out.

A young man in his early 30's was arrested by police for having a "long range rifle" on a tripod in his room. He had a etched a small hole in the window and was in the process of making his way thru the glass. He was a convicted felon out of California. There were over 4000 rounds of ammo and numerous handguns found in the room as well.
He was caught because when he left his room, he neglected to hang the do not disturb sign on his doorknob. Housekeeping came to clean the room and obviously freaked out when they saw the guns.
Police were waiting for him when he returned.

Go right to the 2:15 second mark and the reporter clearly says he's gotten reports that is happened last year:

I don't think so. The fact that this guy had booked rooms overlooking various music festivals around the US says he had his own idea.

Never heard word one about this. Probably it was kept as quiet as possible to avoid giving people the idea they could do it too! And if Paddock had been discovered before the shooting we probably would have heard very little about it.

Paddock was an active player at Vegas casinos
There is no way to know who he might have spoken with and perhaps learned about this incident--still not sure that report is as accurate about a shooter as the posters alludes to---certainly no news story has really come out and authenticated a previous "almost" event...

Plus Paddock's girlfriend was an employee of a casino at one time--don't think lately--but she still might have friends working in casinos privy to "in house" info that didn't make it to the main stream...
So IF IT DID HAPPEN there are ways Paddock could have heard about it...
And plenty of other ways to plant that suggestions
Video games, books, just day dreams...

Then you have Steve Wynn who a couple of years ago made comments and took steps to ensure his casino/hotel was more "hard" and more security conscious
So even that was a known fact

When you have someone who has a problem anything can stoke that fire...

MGM just came up with a new time line. Says shots at security officer at or very close to opening shots at the Festival Goers.
