I will be moving to LV soon, and as I travel frequently for work, I am wondering how simple/difficult it is to navigate the parking at the airport? Is it easy to get in and out of the airport parking by car, or are the lots far away from the terminals, are shuttles necessary, etc? Any help is appreciated.
Also, what about the cost to park?

I'm not sure how much it is to park, but I travel through the LV airport since my grandparents live there. It is quite simple to find parking. Security and check-in don't take that long. However, knowing that this is Vegas, during peak seasons like New Years, Christmas, or pretty much any holiday, people from across North America flock to LV and it can be difficult and expensive. If you travel frequently during non peak times, the airport is almost vacant.

It is simple, but not small. The only tricky part is all the turns and exits while entering. You need to watch all signs carefully or you WILL get lost.

It kinda sucks leaving your car in the garage too long because in the 100*+ constantly in summer, you need to put the air on full blast for like 10 minutes before you can step in the car after returning and it's probably not good for the car.

Oh yeah, the baggage claims get quite busy depending on where you come from and when. They seem to have many flights land around the same time and send all the passengers to just one or two baggage claims. Everyone knows LAX is horrible, but during peak travel times, the LV airport is like NYC but five times worse. You can't hear a damn thing with all the advertisements, slot machines ringing, people talking, baggage claims honking, and the dumb b**** always announcing stuff about always watching your luggage. It is impossible to get out of the airport once you get your bags because you are trapped by all the people. Upon exiting the terminal, it likes walking into an oven.

So, overall, it's a very easy and quick airport, just make a point to avoid peak travel times at all costs.

Seconded. I don't travel a lot, but I've been there a few times and I'm just starting to get the hang of it. I don't know why they made it so difficult... I haven't been to a lot of airports, but LAS is the most confusing of the half dozen or so that I've had to navigate.

I travel a lot and have never had problems here. The airport is very "user-friendly".

Just be warned that the security lines can be very long, so getting there the full 2 hours early is a must.

Wow! Two hours in advance just for domestic flights? I thought the need to do that ended a few years ago.
Is it always that busy at LAS, or just certain times of the year?

In the case of American it deals with baggage screening and remote terminals and idiot airline rules. SWA is much more reasonable. Make most if not all of their flights with an hour lead time.

One solution is don't fly AA. I still have a half million miles or something so no great choice on long haul.

I agree with this, wholeheartedly. I flew a few times from McCarran with SWA, and found the recommended two hour arrival-time excessive, unless it were around the holidays, or similar. Even when I stopped at the ticketing desk to check my bags, and when there was a bit of a line at security, I still had more than ample time to read my book, and prepare. One hour's fine.
