Anyone have one? I keep thinking you could turn off the heat all summer and it would be cool enough to be able to raise the thermostat. Maybe save some money on the AC bill.

Me neither. But it might make sense in the summer!

Haven't had one in years but i used to do that with mine. In the midwest.

It got too cold for me, I needed some light blankets between me and the matress. While house AC was on higher, it still cooled the matress and water.

Your results might be different. Never hurts to try.

An unheated waterbed is COLD. I had one when I was a kid and it was unbearable until it was heated.

What if your house is 80+ inside?

Your body temperature is 98 - anything less feels cool/cold.

We have been using one for something over 50 years. The present one is of the multi tube type and was rebuilt about 6 years ago.
They are actually pretty neutral on temperature. Ours is not heated but is pretty comfortable in any temperature range. The sleeping surface is separated from the water tubes by a thick pad. So the heat transfer is very slow.
You can change the resiliency by varying the water in the tubes. Took a year or so to optimize but that was decades ago. The tubes last over 20 years and fail by leaking. A liner prevents any significant water damage.

I completely agree. I had a multi-tubed waterbed and had all the same experiences. The temperature is very neutral with no heater.

Mine was mulit-tubed too.
But again I was in the midwest, home was in a forest. so not much heat on the house to warm it up. And women tend to run cooler body temp wise anyway.
