Our car had a major oil coolant line rupture that resulted in many oil spots and puddles on our concrete garage floor and concrete driveway. Have seen a website for a LV company (drivewaysteamcleaning.com) stating they can completely remove oil stains from concrete and will GUARANTEE removal. Has anyone used their service or other similar service and were happy with the results?

Look into a company that does epoxy coating. They might do just the cleaning portion for you. When we had ours done they really got it clean. Used one of those machines with the big orbital cleaning pad in addition to steam cleaning.

Head over to www.garagejournal.com and post the question in the flooring forum. https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/...splay.php?f=20

A pro will do a good job on the garage floor (cleaning, grinding, 2-part epoxying). Make sure you specify a UV-absorbing clear topcoat -- most likely a 2 part urethane or polyurethane, and put have them put in a friction modifier such as Shark Grip so it is not slippery when wet.

Regarding the driveway -- being outdoors with full exposure to sunlight -- a pro is likely to tell you an epoxy is not the best solution, as epoxies degrade from exposure to UV light. They become "chalky." There are other products a pro will probably suggest. They will clean it as best they can -- which will not be as good as you would hope. They are likely likely to use a 100% solids penetrating stain. Or maybe something else.

I have never tried steam cleaning to remove oil from a driveway. Since they are in the business, they probably have some before & after photos and videos. And some reference customers. Do your homework.

Oh -- one other thing. Research them on the BBB website.

You realize a business can pay to be on the BBB site? The BBB is a joke

BBB is a joke.

use angies list.

Don't epoxy your drive, trust me. Its a terrible habit to start with the sun here. Put in pavers, they last forever if installed correctly.

So many morons don't know how to do these jobs right. Get referrals.

Angies list is getting to be as bad as BBB.

Thanks all, we're renting the house for 1 year so this is only about getting the oil out of the concrete. I found nothing on drivewaysteamcleaning.com other than what is shown on their website. However, Treidgen Industries has many positive reviews on Yelp. Not much information for either company on AL or BBB. Will give Treidgen a call at the very least.

They have a excellent rating on what you want. 5 star with 32 posts is very good.

Someone even shows pics of a drive with oil stains.

No one time posts, no questionable posts.

Its always good to read them, keeping in mind some people you just can't please.

Yelp took off some of my older posts for being too short, so they are pickier than they use to be. Did I care, no. These were all positive restaurant reviews. They don't need me.

You can advertise that you ARE a member of BBB in good standing, but the BBB will give whoever asks their real "rating". It's still a good way to check if a business is legit and deals with any problems that might come up.
