One left turn lane on West Sahara Ave heading to the resort and you have to wait for traffic to clear. Need a traffic light on the left turn lane to the resort, also the median need to be removed in the area in front of the hotel. It is backed up here for those wishing to turn left on Las Vegas boulevard.

Location, location, location. It was a bad location. But it has excellent restaurants. But the location made it a pain in the rear to get to it.

Probably how most non-Asians feel, and more specifically non-Chinese, really hard to say, but if true that would mean so much lost potential business

I also think lots of Chinese like to gamble/stay at The Wynn, so why would (most of) this demographic even want to go to a much less prestigious Casino?

Actually it is the access that needs to be reconfigured. Entrance is very limited, time consuming because of the wait and only one lane coming in from West Sahara. Sahara ave in both directions is a very busy thoroughfare and if the resort could figure out to turn that one lane entrance into two inside the property and have a traffic light installed then it should be fine. Location is fine and property visible.

IMO, they made a BIG mistake by not building balcony rooms. The view would have been epic.

They'll figure it out.

My guess is the casino is shuttered much longer than 6 months. I think it could make a return when Resorts World makes some marked progress insuring there is a second Asian-themed property to draw people to the north strip. On the bright side it seems as if this closure has expedited the sale of SLS.

More like Boyd would buy it to close it so it stops competing and no way Red Rock buys it, that makes zero sense. Feels like a Golden Gaming purchase since Icahn has sold out of town. This whole idea that the "Asian" market needs a place of their own is ridiculous, there is zero proof of this being the case anywhere. This was just a non-Asian coming up with this idea and well he lost a lot of money for his investors with his theory.

Discussed on NPR this morning. The gimmick was apparently attracting Chinese money by the entrepreneur visa thing. you invest so much money and hire so many people and you get a permanent resident visa. The guy on NPR speculated that they had to keep part of the place running in an attempt to meet the time requirement of the visa program.

It was also pointed out that toward the end of the build out the developer tried to get 25 million from the city who turned him down.

see here's the thing, when Asians go to Vegas, they don't want to go to a casino resort where THEY are the theme, they could do that in their own country - they want to go to Paris or New York or Egypt or medieval castles or Italy, somewhere where the theme is as far away from Asia as you can get! But seeing places like this always makes me sad, places like this means people have lost their jobs or are going to lose their jobs, hard working people trying to get by, feed their families
