I was at Smith's last night and was surprised to see duck and goose in the frozen food section. I hadn't had goose or duck since I left Minnesota so I thought about grabbing one. I grabbed it and then threw it back. The one goose they had was $81.00! Seriously, that was the price!

Have they always been that expensive here or am I shopping at the wrong store?

They have a bunch of them at Aliante, in nature discovery park. Watch out for the geese though, they fight back.

I thought they were pests! But I am guessing this goose was a big white one that was raised on the farm.

They are all over the place on the golf courses. Coots are the worst. And all they do is make a huge mess everywhere.

I've only eaten duck once. At Bobby Flay's joint. I didn't care for it. Never tried goose. I don't love chicken ( as a flavor, or lack thereof) but I like turkey. 80 bucks is ridiculous for a goose . I picked up a ham near Christmas priced near that, and it could not get back on the shelf quick enough. I don't even like pork. It was for guests.

Yup! Crispy duck at a good Chinese place is better than what I can do at home!
