Alcohol Awareness Training required in Nevada Counties with a population of 400,000 or more Effective July 1, 2007.

NRS 369 requires owners or operators of liquor establishments whom hire or employ persons to sell or serve alcohol, alcoholic beverages, or act as a security guard at such establishments, to ensure such person completes a State certified Alcohol Beverage Awareness Program and holds a valid alcohol education card.

NRS 369.650 state "no agency, board, commission, local government or other political subdivision of this State may adopt any requirements or standards for the education of persons employed to sell or serve alcoholic beverages at an establishment." The exception is a county that has a populations of 100,00 or less and jurisdictions located in that county.

This law supersedes and invalidates the laws that require "the program offered by TAM" or similar programs.
Clark County 8.20.055 - Las Vegas 6.50.055 - North Las Vegas 5.26.520

These provisions apply to establishments in all counties whose population is 400,000 or more (Clark and Washoe Counties). An establishment is defined as a business that sells alcoholic beverages by the drink for consumption on the premises and businesses that sell alcoholic beverages in corked or sealed containers or receptacles for consumption off the premises. These provisions do not apply to a:

Nevada Licensed Wholesale Dealer or
a private club or
other facility which is not open to the public.
An establishment who violates provisions pertaining to Alcohol Awareness Training is subject to an administrative fine ranging from $500.00 to $5000.00.

Many of the cards, including some TAM cards, issuded prior to July 01, 2007 under the laws that require "the program offered by TAM" or similar programs are no longer valid. If you did not get your card from one of the following schools your may you may be in violation of the law. All unexpired ACT cards are valid

Las Vegas would be a good place for you to relocate if you are a 19-year old looking for a job stripping.

Just move to las vegas without a job like everyone else does. Seriously though, I would have something lined up before you came out only because it is sooo difficult to get a job. Since the economy is so bad here right now, employers can underpay at almost every type of position because the supply of jobs is so low and the demand is so very high.

In pittsburgh an entry level accountant makes somewhere in the neighborhood of 18$ per hour and an accountant in las vegas for the same position makes about 14$ per hour. Plus it's a lot harder to get a job in LV even if you are skilled and have expierence.

I think what that person is saying is that you do not need to be 21 (Unless otherwise stated) to work in a casino. Also from what I see online the minimum age to get a TAM card is 16 which makes sense. It states on TAM Nevada NEVADA STATE LAW REQUIRES THAT ALL PERSONS WHO SERVE, SELL, SUPERVISE, ARE SECURITY PERSONNEL OR WORK IN AN ESTABLISHMENT WHERE ALCOHOL IS SOLD OR SERVED, MUST RECEIVE STATE CERTIFIED ALCOHOL TRAINING EVERY FOUR YEARS

Under 21 may not be able to serve it or obviously consume it but that doesnt mean that you have to be 21 to work in a casino.

that is correct, there are a few areas in which under 21 could work.. obviously not on the casino floor.... but possibly valet, outside, accounting, etc

Are you stating that you cannot be hired in a casino restaurant for any position under 21? I can't see why a hostess or dishwasher would need to be 21.
